Wednesday, December 2, 2009. With their mouths they express devotion,. But their hearts are greedy for unjust gain. Indeed, to them you are nothing more than one who sings love songs with a beautiful voice and plays an instrument well, for they hear your words but do not put them into practice. But God has a way of digging deeper.
What does this mean? We have supported Fred throughout high school and now through his first year at the University. I first met Fred while speaking at his school during my first year in Uganda. We were working with the AIDS Awareness and right living campaign.
What does this mean? Hossanah is our latest addition to the family of sponsored children. She contacted us with the desire to remain in school, but lacked the necessary school fees. We had previously visited her school this last trip in 2004, sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. She is a believer and wants to work with the ministry. We felt that we could help her finish school and let her focus on studying rather than surviving.
What does this mean? Patrick is finishing his last semester of high school in December. It is so exciting to be a part of his success, encouraging him spiritually and supporting him financially. He has an incredibly humble heart and bold spirit to share the love of Jesus Christ. Patrick and I already have plans of ministering together as we reunite in February. I am praying that we can send him for more training at a Bible College.
What does this mean? Through World Vision I was introduced to our sponsor child, Sarah Alanyo, in 2000. She is now 12 years old and a beautiful young girl. She is a believer and she is so thankful that God has allowed her to succeed in school and give her this chance to live and learn even after being orphaned. I have enjoyed corresponding with Sarah over the last 5 years and I cannot wait to meet her face to face when we return to Uganda! .
